Melbourne Food

One week in Melbourne.
Places found. In general great food, not over pricy.
A guess is that with a little bit of research hundreds more of this kind would arise.
Mel seems to be a place for food.

So. When in city central Mel. Don't miss the Sensory Lab
Coffee shop and large basement food store / court.
High end barista making coffee with great care, takes a while to get your coffee...but so worth the wait. Nice thing is my name written on the cup, and called out when its done. Personal feeling.
The basement food court is Deli heaven. Assorted goodies of everything!
Little Collins street.

Diabolic antipasti @ Gorski and Jones on Smith st Collingswood. Do. Not. Miss.

Duck liver paté from heaven! some deep fried risotto, salami, fritatas, omelette...
In Euro-international style rest, with open kitchen.
Goat-cheese dumplings in salad with walnuts red beets and mint leaves. at Boney. Accompany with Two birds local beer.
Best sallad I have had in a long time, and the mint with it really made it happen.
easy going place with good food and club nights.

Late night fast food.

  Dumplings extraordinaire at HuTong
We waited 30 min in the alley for a table for five, ordered everything on the first page plus some...and loved it! It was just as good as it looks.

Fresh salads and local champagne at Hierloom
Modern Isakaya on Swanston st. with largest selection of whiskey in Australia (Melbourne?).
Perfect spot for short sit food.
